Book Week - Stu Duval

Stu Duval visited Point View School on Monday 14 September and Tuesday 15 September.  Stu writes books and he is an illustrator as well.
The children enjoyed watching him design cartoons using letters of the alphabet and numbers.
He told the children a story about a book monster.
The next day the children got to work with Stu Duval, creating cartoon characters.
They thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Enjoy the photos:

These are the cartoons that Stu Duval got the children to draw.  They had lots of fun creating them.

Flowers in a Vase

The children enjoyed creating their flowers in a vase. They used pastel, dye and tissue paper.
We think they look so real, you might want to smell the flowers!!!

We showed our art at assembly.

Dance Festival

Some of the Year 2 students were involved in a dance festival held at Elim Christian College on Wednesday 5 August and Thursday 6 August 2015.
There were 23 dances and some of the Year 2 children from Point View School danced with the Year 5 students.  They had a wonderful time and they should be so proud of themselves.

Our Trip to Motat

Room 4 had a wonderful time at Motat on 5 August.
When we arrived we had morning tea and then went to the classroom to explore a variety of mechanisms and magnets.  It was lots of fun using the equipment and finding out how everything worked.  After that we went on a group trail around Motat with our parent helpers and then had lunch.  After lunch we continued to explore the exhibitions and then went to their new areas called , 'Welcome to the Machine' and 'Get Smart'.  The children really enjoyed working with the machines.  Finally we went on a tram ride and then boarded the bus and returned to Point View School.
Please enjoy looking at the photos of our experience at Motat:
