Our Flower Art

WOW!!!!  The children a great time designing their flower art.
Room 4 looked at the work of Kandinsky.  He was a well known abstract artist.  He concentrated on colour and design.
After our visit to Te Tuhi we focused on primary, secondary and tertiary colours.  Then we looked closely at warm and cold colours.

We designed a background with paint and used different objects to create texture.  Then we designed our flowers from warm or cold colours.  We looked closely at the colour wheel to help us choose the colours to use.
When they finished their art they wrote a descriptive piece about their flowers.
Enjoy looking at some of their work:
My flowers have beautiful, glittering colours that make them alive.  They can dance across the wind in a musical pattern.

The flowers stay very still on the branches.  My flowers dance beautifully.

My beautiful flowers are waving in the breeze.  They are shimmering in the wonderful sunlight.

My flowers are fluttering form side to side.  Droplets come from high in the sky and they drop down gracefully on the smooth petals.  The petals dance in the cold breeze.

My flowers are dancing down to the sunlight, sparkling at the smooth, soft ground.  It is amazing.

We shared our beautiful flower art at a Junior assembly.
