Ice Block Day

 Ice Block Day - Friday 23 May

The students in Room 4 made their own orange ice blocks.  We all enjoyed them today! YUMMY!!!!

Science in a Van

 Science in a Van - Tuesday 20 May

Today Science in a Van came to Point View School.   Allen used a bubble trumpet to make bigger bubbles.  Then he made huge bubbles with a wand.  He pushed the bubble up by creating air around it.  He talked about making a bubble mixture and the word mixture means putting two or more things together.  Allen used water and dishwashing liquid to create the bubbles.

Then Emily put water, food colouring and cooking oil together and we made a prediction what could happen.  The oil and water separated and the oil rose to the top.  

Then they put vinegar and baking soda together to make a mixture and it made a reaction.  The two mixtures bubbles, fizzed and foamed.

Allen made a bubble go inside a bubble, how clever!  We talked about air being inside the bubble.

What a very exciting day.  The students, and teachers, came to school as one of their favourite book characters.  We went to assembly and had a book character parade.  What amazing costumes the students wore, so creative!
