Road Safety

Constable White visited our classroom to talk about the parts of the road.  She made a chart for us to display in our classroom.  After her visit we designed our own chart about the parts of the road.

We went to the hall and Constable White showed us how to cross the road.  Some Point View School road patrol monitors helped as well.

We went outside the school and walked along the footpath.  We checked to see if there were any cars coming in or out of driveways.  Constable White was very pleased with the children.

Then Constable White showed us how to cross the road on the pedestrian crossing outside our school.

Then it was our turn to cross the road.  Constable White watched to see that we were following the rules.  She was very pleased with us.

Book Week

What a fabulous week we are having.
On Monday we went to the hall to met Stu Duval.  He told us a story and we could hear music playing in the background.  Stu drew a picture of part of the story.  At the end he asked the Junior School three questions and Judy and Gemma from Room 4 answered two of the questions.  Room 4 got to keep the picture that he signed.
Here are some pictures of our exciting time with Stu Duval.

This is the picture that Stu Duval drew.  It is displayed in Room 4.

Stu Duval came back to see us.  This time he showed us how to draw cartoons using interesting shapes.

Then Wonky Donkey came to visit us in our classroom.  He sat there and listened to the stories and answered our questions.

Erin Devlin came to our school to share her books with us.  She had puppets and some children got to work with them.  She showed us some of her books she has written.  They were: 'Good Morning, Good Night', 'As Koru Slept' and
'Oh, No Mister Possum!'

On Friday we had a wonderful book character parade.
The children dressed up as their favourite book character.
See if you can guess who they were.
