Drama with Mrs Oldham

Drama with Mrs Oldham - 25/5/23

Mrs Oldham came into the class and worked with the students.  They enjoyed listening to the story, 'The Giant Jam Sandwich'.   They talked about how the villagers were feeling and how their facial expressions changed when the wasps arrives.  Each child created a character who could work in the village.  They held a class meeting with Mrs Oldham as the Mayor and they enjoyed working on a range of activities.

Te Reo with Mrs Gibson

Te Reo with Mrs Gibson - 25/5/23

Today Mrs Gibson worked with us and we said, "How are you?" in Maori.  She read us a wonderful story
with numbers in the story.  We did an activity showing the numbers in Maori and we matched the cards together.  We also snag lots of exciting songs with Mrs Giobson.

Te Reo with Mrs Gibson

Te Reo with Mrs Gibson

Today Mrs Gibson played Simon Says, using parts of your body.  We then went over, in Maori, What is your name?  Then we sang a song about the colours in Maori.  After that we formed groups of three and we played some games that were all about the colours in Maori.
We really enjoy Mrs Gibson visiting us.

An Interview with Mr Hickson

An Interview with Mr Hickson

On Monday 15 May Mr Hickson, our Property Manager, came into our classroom and we asked him some questions about his role at Point View School.  We thought carefully about what we wanted to find out and we shared our questions with Mr Hickson.

Please share what Mr Hickson told us with your family.

Our questions were:

What do you do when it's raining?

Why do you call your office the man cave?

What do you do in your office?

What is your favourite job?

Do you work on a computer?  If so, what do you do?

Do you have meetings?

What are some jobs you do at Point View School?

Do you need to call people at school or out of school?

Do you work outside of Point View School?

How can we help you at Point View School?
