Harold - Life Education Trust

Celia Thompson from the Life Education Trust talked to Room 4.  It was very exciting because we visited the caravan.  She talked to us about the different foods that make us healthy.  We discussed the things we need to do every day to keep healthy like getting exercise and having pleanty of sleep.  Celia introduced us to Tam and we looked at parts of the body like, lungs, heart, stomach and the brain.
During our visits we are focusing on:
Understanding that we need different foods for health and energy.
Understanding that we eat different foods all through the day.
Finding some body parts that our food goes through to help give us energy.
Naming the things that our bodies need to keep healthy and happy.

Here are some photos of inside the caravan.  If you look carefully you might see Harold.

This is a photo of the food that we put into breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Orca Mufti Day

On Friday 21 March it was Orca Mufti Day.  The children could wear black and white and it was such an exciting day.
Thank you so much to the parents for providing orca cookies or cupcakes to sell on Friday.  We really appreciated your support.  Have a look at some of the cookies and cupcakes that came to school.

First we had a full school assembly and Miss Norton spoke about the day.  It was wonderful to see the whole school dressed in black and white.  We sang lots of songs about orca and the sea.

Here are some photos of the children in Room 4.

We had a parade in the hall and it was great to see all the different costumes.  After lunch eating the children involved themselves in a variety of games and activities related to orca and they had so much fun.

Assembly Item

Room 4 showed their chalk art at assembly.  Emilia and Damon hosted assembly and did a fabulous job.  Zara introduced our item and she spoke well.  All the children went on stage and they were very proud of their art.

Autumn Writing

The children wrote about Autumn.  We discussed using exciting words to make our work interesting to listen to.  The children are very proud of their writing.

Our trip to Motat

What an amazing trip we had at Motat.
First we were welcomed and then we had morning tea.  After that we went to the Education Centre and Melissa talked to us about kiwiana.  Then we went into our groups and explored Motat.  After lunch we had a tram ride.
Enjoy the photos
