Book Week Parade

Book Week Parade
The children came to school dressed as their favourite book character.  We went to the hall and all the classes went on stage to show their costumes.  They all looked fantastic.

Enjoy looking at the photos of the children in Room 4.

Book Week - Sally Sutton

Sally Sutton visited Point View School.  We found some of the books that she has written in our school library and have read them.  She told us that she became an author by writing lots of stories and sending them to publishers.  She has great fun writing stories and her favourite book is usually the last one she has written.  Sally Sutton has written twelve books so far.  She told us that she feels wonderful when she sees her name on the cover of the book.  Some of the books that she has written are called, "Demolition', 'Farmer John's Tractor' and 'Crazy Kiwi's Tops and Tails'.

Book Week - Stu Duval

Stu Duval visited Point View School on Monday 14 September and Tuesday 15 September.  Stu writes books and he is an illustrator as well.
The children enjoyed watching him design cartoons using letters of the alphabet and numbers.
He told the children a story about a book monster.
The next day the children got to work with Stu Duval, creating cartoon characters.
They thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Enjoy the photos:

These are the cartoons that Stu Duval got the children to draw.  They had lots of fun creating them.
