Our Exciting Bridge Work

Our Exciting Bridge Work - 7/7/21

Today the students from Room 4 and 5 were involved in a range of activities that were related to bridges.

They could choose from:

*designing bridges with foam building blocks and wooden blocks

*using paper cups, straws and ice cream sticks  to create a bridge

*using K'nex and Lego to design a bridge

*use paper and cardboard to create a bridge

*use the laptop to search for new information from specific websites

They moved to the activity they chose and looked at a variety of bridge pictures and talked about them.  Then they looked at the equipment they had and talked with the group about how they cold be used.  They drew some ideas on paper and then made their bridge, using the equipment.

The students who were using the laptops typed in 'Bridges for Kids' and chose videos that they could discuss with a buddy.  They wrote down some information about them.

The students worked together and had lots of fun!

When they finished they enjoyed looking at all the activities that were around the room and then they went to Room 5 to view the activities in that room.

Enjoy looking at some of the work the students did.

Building Bridges with Our Buddy Class

Building Bridges with Our Buddy Class - Friday 2 July

The students in Room 4 worked with their buddy from Room 27.

Their goal was to design a bridge using paper and cardboard that was strong enough for a toy car to travel over.

This was a great opportunity for the students to work with their Year 5 buddy and talk about a suitable bridge design together.

After they had built their bridges the students went for a walk around the classroom to see the variety of designs.
