Life Education Caravan

 Life Education Caravan - Monday 9 October

This afternoon we visited the Life Education Caravan and we met Harold, the giraffe.
We are learning about making good decisions.  We talked about if we look after our basic needs like, eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, drink exercise and get plenty of sleep then we will make good decisions.
We discussed the word consequences and found out that it meant what could happen.  Some consequences are good and some are bad.
If you show people kindness then there is a good consequence, these could be:
- having lots of friends
- making people smile
- feeling good inside

If we eat too many sweets then there could be a bad consequence, these could be:
- having a toothache
- feeling sick in your tummy

We met Harold again and we told him what we had found out in the caravan.

Lesson 2 in the Life Education Caravan - Tuesday 10 October

Today we visited the Life Education Caravan.  We talked about thinking of our consequences as they can be good or bad choices or helpful or hurtful to you or people around you.  When we feel happy it makes you do nice things for people.  We also talked about how our feelings can influence the way we act.  We discussed some feelings that we can have like: cross, angry, embarrassed, smart or disappointed.
We shared if we are sad, what might we do:
* not talk to anyone
* might cry
* use our WITS
We shared the word 'regulate' and if we feel angry or sad we need to regulate ourselves.  We can do this by:
* having deep breaths
* drinking water
* stretch up to the sky
* do exercises
* talk it out with someone you trust
* smell a flower
* have a moment to ourselves
* play with your friend
* go to a beautiful place
* have a rest and watch the clouds
* play in your room
* cool down and have a glass of iced water
* ignore it
* relax
* seek help
* have a healthy snack
* read a bool
* let it out and cry
* think about something that makes you smile
* listen to some music

The students also had a dance in the caravan and they really enjoyed that!
