 Cultural Week

What a very exciting week we had, Cultural Week was so much fun.
The students were involved in a range of activities, from many different cultures, during lunchtime.
At the end of the week the students came to school in clothes from their culture and we also had an exciting assembly on Friday to end our week.

Working with Mrs Hilder - Environment Activities

Working with Mrs Hilder - Environment Activities - Thursday 8 August

Here is a summary from Mrs Hilder about the day.

In the first block we spend that time exploring food groups (grains, dairy, fruit and vegetables and fats and oils), sorting foods into the food groups and then identifying food from the different food groups in their own lunch boxes.

In the second block, we decided how to class foods as healthy (eat most of the time) or unhealthy (eat sometimes) - we played sorting games followed by an eye spy worksheet they completed.

In the last block we used only healthy ingredients to make a fruit snack.  Children had to choose the ingredients, measure, and make their own snack.  While these were in the fridge they had to do a big clean and wash up all their dishes.
