The students enjoyed searching for pictures of taniwha and discussing their details.  We read a book called Taniwha by Robyn Kahukiwa which we enjoyed.  The students designed a range of pencil sketches of taniwha and then chose their favourite one to enlarge.  They used pastel to colour the taniwha and then a black outline in pastel.  Dye was put around their work and painted texture.

Today we shared our zentangle patterns at assembly.  It was lovely to see so many parents at assembly.

Catherine played the piano to start assembly and Charlotte F introduced our item.

Zentangle Patterns

 The students watched a video about how to create a zentangle pattern.  The used four squares and designed four different patterns, using a vivid marker to create their own work.
