 Cultural Week

On the last week of term 3 we all enjoyed Cultural Week.  

We discussed our own cultures and looked at a map of the world to see where these countries were.  We found out some information about these cultures as well.  The students took home a questionnaire sheet and interview someone from their family about their culture.  They shared this with us and it gave us a wonderful insight into a range of cultures.  At lunchtime the students involved themselves in a variety of activities from different cultures and then they shared with us in class what they have been involved in.  

On the last day of the term the students came to school in their cultural clothing.  They all looked so colourful and proud of their culture.  We had an assembly and the students walked on the stage showing off their wonderful clothing.

What a lot of fun and challenges the students in Room 4 are having today.  They are constructing a range of buildings, vehicles and their own designs, using an iPad to view the instructions with some of the activities.  This is extremely hands-on as the students are directing their own learning.

What an exciting week of mathematics!!  The students worked on a variety of maths activities in Room 4, Room 5, Room 6 and Room 10.  They really enjoyed moving to the different classrooms.
