We found out:
*we can mix colours to give us many new colours
*the importance of predicting what happens
*the importance of observing
We used coloured glasses and a colour mixing box.
We found out:
*we need light to view objects on a microscope
*microscopes help us see things much larger than they really are
We found out:
*what the ear looks like inside by using a large model of the ear
*how sound gets into our ear
*how to magnify sound so we can hear better
We found out:
*how to use a wave machine
*how to make a sound at the same time as pushing a wave down the slinky
*how to send a sound wave from left to right
*the different sounds plastic and metal make
We found out:
*we hear sounds because of vibrations in the air
*sound travels in waves
*sound has pitch which can be high or low
*sound has volume which can be loud or quiet
We used a different type of microscope that we attached to a laptop. A dino-lite is a digital microscope.
We found out:
*that lenses bend light and help us see things much larger than they really are
*the importance of observation to a scientist
Here is a picture of our carpet!
