Te Tuhi Art Gallery - 16 August 2018
Today we went to Te Tuhi Art Galley.
We met Charlotte there and she took us straight to the art studio. The children were very excited about learning all about colour. The learning intention was to think about colours in our environment. The learning outcome was to create our own colour wheel and learn about primary, secondary and tertiary colours.
The children made their own colour wheel. First they worked on the primary colours then moved to the secondary colours then the tertiary colours.
We went to the art gallery and looked at a piece of art by Benjamin Work. He reimagined the Tongan flag and showed a person, Tongan weapons, stars and a bird on his flag.
Then Charlotte put the children in groups and they worked on a colour wheel activity.
