Working with Whaea Pen

 Working with Whaea Pen - Wednesday 5 June

Today when Whaea Pen visited Room 4 we worked on two things to say in Maori, Come in which is Kuhu mai and come inside which is Kuhu mai Ki roto.  

Then we focused on our emotions that we discussed last week.  We played a game about this.  One student had a card and they said the emotion in Maori and then showed it on their face.  The other students had to guess what is was.  Then we sang a song about how we felt and used our feeling words in Maori.

Then we focused on vehicles and how we can say them in Maori.  Then we read a story in Maori.

Whaea Pen gave us some cards showing vehicles and what they are in Maori.  We had to find the same vehicle by asking children in our class if they had the same vehicle.

Using our vehicle picture cards we did some role play showing the vehicles moving around our classroom.
