Book Week

Erin Devlin came to Point View School.  She is an author and she makes puppets and uses them when she reads her stories.  The children really enjoyed listening to her stories and acting out parts of her books.

The children enjoyed bringing their favourite books to school to share with the class.

Bruce Potter came to Point View School.  He has written books and he is an illustrator as well.
He told us that it is important to use our imagination and he showed us how to draw a dragon.  He said that everything is built up of shapes when you are drawing.  At the moment he is illustrating a book about bears.  Bruce Potter has illustrated some of Joy Cowley's books.

On Friday 5 May we came to school in our favourite book character costume.  We went to the school hall to have a parade.  It was such fun wearing our costume all day.

We went to the hall to watch all the classes parade on stage and show us their book character costumes.

We even had buddy reading with Room 27 in our book character costumes.
