Firefighter Matt's Visit to Point View School

Firefighter Matt's Visit to Point View School
Firefighter Matt talked to us about being firewire.  He told the children that smoke burns in a house and if this happens it is important for us to close the door, get down, get low and get out fast and then go outside to our safe meeting place.  Our parents will call 111.   A really good safe meeting place is our letterbox.  He told us that it is very important to have an escape plan.
Firefighter Matt talked about smoke alarms and showed us some different types.  He said that we must have a smoke alarm in every bedroom, the living room and the hallway.  It is important for our family to test the smoke alarms as they might need new batteries.
Firefighter Matt read us a story about Effie who needed to get down, get low and get out fast from her bedroom.
